How to save money on car parts, or just about anything else!

I hope no one minds my tangent on this one. I have been pretty busy with a lot of cool things for the summer in between working hard and trying to have fun and haven’t been able to update the blog about the car in a while. I hope to find the time to write about my 1st place win at Camaro Superfest soon, along with a very cool addition to the photo gallery from that show.

But for now, here’s something I wanted to share with my loyal readers and you will thank me for this one.

Recently, someone posted on CamaroZ28.Com how to save 20% or more on Advance Auto Parts’ web site by using coupon codes. I realized that I know how to save even more from there, or AutoZone or just about any other major online retailer for car parts or nearly anything else. I am talking about cashback programs, and I have been using them for a long time and I have probably saved $3,000 over the past few years.  I mentioned in that thread that I figured out a way to save even more and offered the info to whoever PM’d me.  I got dozens of PMs, so I thought it would be easier to make this entry.

So here’s how to you do it…

It is pretty simple, and it works well. Just sign up on the following web sites:

  • BeFrugal – This is a newer one, looks promising and has a newsletter with current deals.
  • BigCrumbs – Has a LOT of options and I find this one to have just about everything I need.
  • Coupon Cactus – Has some better payouts than others for some online stores.
  • eBates – Sign up and get a bonus instantly!
  • ExtraBux – Sign up and get a bonus instantly! Pretty clean and easy to use, great search engine for searching for specific products OR stores!
  • Mr. Rebates – Sign up and get a bonus instantly!
  • TopCashBack – Claims to be the most generous cashback site.  Give it a shot!

It is free and only takes a minute each. Once you have your account verified and in place, search all the above web sites for the stores you plan to shop from. Of the above, sometimes there is one with a higher percentage of cashback than another, so it pays to check all of them.  Plus, out of each of them, just about every major online store is covered.

Once you find the one that has the highest cashback for the store you want to shop at, click through their link and shop and buy as you normally would and you will get a percentage of the purchase amount placed into your account! Eventually, you cash out and you have money that you would have missed out on by shopping at the exact same place without going through the cashback programs.

If you shop online a lot (and who doesn’t these days?), you will be amazed how much it adds up.  It has gotten to the point where I won’t buy much of anything without checking these sites first.  Depending on the store, you can even order online and pick up in store.  When I do this, it usually covers the tax and then some.

Yes, I get a referral bonus and you can too.  I hope this can help someone save some bucks on their car parts or whatever else they need!  Feel free to ask any questions in the comments below.
